Last updated: 2026-08-17
Gemurmur is a Chrome extension that displays short live comments on the web pages you view. This policy explains what information the extension handles and why.
Information handled
Gemurmur may process the current page URL, domain, title, description, headings, visible page text, image alternative text, page language, and local interaction signals such as scrolling, clicking, navigation, tab activation, and inactivity. These items are processed locally on your device.
Purpose of use
This information is used only to generate and display page-related comments and to maintain your extension settings. Comment generation runs locally with the Gemma model using WebGPU.
Sharing and external transmission
Gemurmur does not send, sell, or share page content, URLs, browsing activity, generated comments, or settings with the developer, advertisers, analytics providers, or other third parties. The information is not used for advertising, profiling, credit decisions, or lending decisions.
When you choose to load the model, Gemurmur downloads the local Gemma model files over HTTPS from the configured model host. Page content and browsing activity are not included in that download request.
Storage and deletion
Extension settings and model status are stored in Chrome's local extension storage. The downloaded model is stored in the browser's local cache. You can delete the model from the extension popup, or remove local extension data by uninstalling Gemurmur.
Contact
For support, please use the Gemurmur support page. Do not include page contents, URLs, passwords, or other sensitive information in a support request.
